Black-tailed godwit at Lodmoor

Black-tailed godwit at Lodmoor

Two days after taking pics of the boldest black-tailed godwits in town, I returned for a repeat performance but it wasn't to be. This was the boldest bird I found and it wouldn't come closer than 25yds but what struck me most was the difference in plumage; gone was the chestnut neck and bold browns on his back and to be replaced by a generally boring brown with a white belly.
