Black-tailed godwit at Lodmoor

I often go down to the Lodmoor reserve when I have a couple of hours to spare because it's within 10 miles of home and it has to be a pretty bad day not to see something worth a photograph. On this day it was a pair of black-tailed godwits that had decided the best mud to probe was within 5 yards of the path and not, as usual, 30 yards away. Hence the good, detailed pic that shows the birds summer plumage so well. As you'll see from my other photo, I got very different results just 2 days later.
