Fontmell Down Nature Reserve
Here is a 'virtual' tour of this site to give you an idea of what to expect if you visit:
Fontmell Down is a steep chalk ridge escarpment slope
Being chalk grassland it has a wonderful display of flowers
There are, however, steep slopes to negotiate
There are flatter areas but not many!
This track had a bank covered in flowers and is alive with butterflies in mid-summer
There is also an area of broad leaf woodland well worth visiting
Look out for the site information displays for more details on the reserve
